IE security Settings

Follow this simple guide to change your Internet Explorer Security Settings. This will help secure your computer against malicious websites and spyware.

1. Ensure you have only one Internet Explorer window open. Go to Tools->Internet Options.
2. Click the 'Security' tab at the top. Click the 'Internet' icon then click 'Custom Level'.
3. Set the following settings:

Download signed ActiveX controls->Enable
(For maximum security set this to Disable. However, this may restrict certain features on many legitimate sites. Setting to Prompt will mean IE will ask you every time you come across a site with this functionality.)

Download unsigned ActiveX controls->Disable

Initialize and Script ActiveX controls not marked as safe->Disable

Run ActiveX controls and plugins->Enable
(Again, for maximum security this should be set to disable)
